Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.” – John 20:29 NLT
I’ve always wished for a giant billboard sign. Some major and obvious physical confirmation that the path I’m choosing is right. That the promise I’m standing on will pass. That the health I’m believing in will come to pass. That, without a doubt, Jesus truly does love me. I’d be so blessed to receive an obvious sign!
But that’s not completely true. Actually, blessed is the one who believes without seeing an obvious physical confirmation.
If you are standing in faith. If you are trusting the Lord with your future. If you are staring at a giant mountain in front of you and commanding it to move, then YOU are the one who is blessed.
Don’t be jealous of other believers’ testimonies, who may experience major signs in the sky. Yes, what an amazing testimony. Join them in thanking God for His presence! It’s worth worshiping and also celebrating! But don’t let their experience think you’re less blessed.
You have actually received the larger blessing, because you’re believing, without seeing.
You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him, and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. – 1 Peter 1:8-9
