Pray and Never Give Up

Are you praying to God asking for something, but haven’t received it yet? Are you burnt out and wondering if God hears you? Have you wondered what the point of praying is?

Jesus has a word for you – Pray and never give up.

I know the feeling. I’m familiar with giving up. It’s okay, me too. The energy and heavy feelings I once had have worn off, and now I’m in a state of coasting. The prayers still happen, but they’ve lost their once hopeful spark. I’ve wondered if maybe this is just God’s will for my life – Should I just accept this and stop praying? So much time has passed.

Pray and never give up.

One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’”

Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith? – Luke 18:1-8 NLT

Have faith, never give up!

Cry out to him day and night; never give up!

You are valuable, and God will take care of you! (Matthew 6:26).

God hears your prayers! (Psalm 66:19-20, Psalm 18:6, Isaiah 65:24).

God hears your cries and catches each one of them! (Psalm 56:8, Psalm 34:15, Psalm 34:17, Psalm 145:19, Psalm 34:6)

If your problem isn’t good yet, then God’s not done. John 10:10 NLT says, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” What you’re battling against is Satan. Remember that God is on your side.

Pray and never give up.
